About me –

Hey! My name is Rebekah, here I’ll go by Jean.

I grew up in a small town near Madison WI, with two older sisters and loving parents. We were home schooled from pre-k through 12th grade and my parents laid heavy into hobbies and interests. In middle school I found a love for reading, writing(mostly journaling) and crochet! We regularly attended a non-denominational Bible Church in Verona and moved to the Madison area around the time I turned 7

At 14 I began working for Chick-fil-A and found a lot of fulfillment in my work. (This is also when I met and soon after started dating my now husband…)I worked 20hrs a week, doubled up on some credits and managed to graduate a year early so I could go full time in a management position! I moved out two months after turning 18. I found an amazing community who supported me and helped me to grow in so many different ways.

Fast forward to July of 2024, my boyfriend and I had been dating 3 years – We got engaged! After some planning and purposing… We decided a traditional wedding was NOT what we wanted and eloped on October 1st of 2024 with our immediate families.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I love my job. But when my husband and I decided I would go part time after we got married so I could focus more of my energy into our home lifestyle – I was thrilled!

We immediately began our journey to pay off our remaining car loan and SAVE for a down payment for a house. On my end, I began working on our budget and learning all the ways we can save money by cooking from scratch, finding free entertainment and cutting bills.

With all I’ve learned these last 6 months, I thought I would try to share this knowledge and support my love for writing by beginning a blog… and here you are!
